Our Story
Osteria Luna was born in 2018 from a simple yet profound passion: a love for authentic Italian cuisine. Not the kind found in tourist restaurants, but the kind from grandmothers' homes in Emilia-Romagna, Lazio and Sicily — warm, honest, full of flavour.
Our founders, Alexandru and Giulia, met in Bologna during their studies and brought back to Bucharest not just recipes, but an entire culinary philosophy: good ingredients speak for themselves.
We make no compromises on quality. Our guanciale comes from Umbria, fior di latte mozzarella arrives fresh daily, San Marzano tomatoes are DOP certified, and our pasta dishes — Carbonara, Cacio e Pepe, Amatriciana — follow the original Roman recipes.
We don't put cream in Carbonara. We don't deceive our guests. That's it.
Our executive chef, Marco Ferraro (a Naples native, trained at Osteria Francescana), leads a team of 8 passionate cooks. Our servers know every dish in detail and are happy to guide you.
Osteria Luna is housed in a heritage space in central Bucharest — brick arches, candles, solid wood furniture and a green terrace for warm evenings. 40 seats indoors, 20 on the terrace.
We work with local suppliers for vegetables and meat (Ferma Bucur from Ilfov, Ferma Mioritica from Argeș) and eliminated single-use plastics from the restaurant in 2022. Organic waste is composted with a local partner.
We look forward to showing you that great food needs no gimmicks.
